Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), headquartered in Sambalpur, is one of the eight subsidiaries of Coal India Limited and operates coal mines across Odisha. MCL is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for a total of 667 vacancies for the posts of Junior Overman, Mining Sirdar, and Surveyor. Last date to submit the online application is 06-04-2026 (11:50 PM).

These are regular, full-time positions offered under the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA-XI), involving technical and supervisory responsibilities. Selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining safety standards, overseeing mining operations in underground and opencast mines, and supporting essential technical services related to coal production.

  • Unreserved Category Candidate must have been born between 07-04-1996 and 06-04-2008
  • Upper age relaxation:
    • OBC (NCL): 3 years (born between 07-04-1993 and 06-04-2008)
    • SC/ST: 5 years (born between 07-04-1991 and 06-04-2008)
    • Ex-Servicemen: Service + 3 years
    • Departmental Candidates: No upper age limit
    • PwBD: 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)

  • Qualification eligibility criteria must be completed as on date of applying.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process will include a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. No personal interview will be held.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

CBT will be bilingual (English/Hindi) and will consist of objective-type multiple choice questions. There will be no negative marking.

Qualifying marks will be 45 for General / EWS, 40 for OBC (NCL), and 35 for SC / ST.

Document Verification

Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification in the ratio of 1:3 based on merit in the CBT. In case of a tie in marks, it will be resolved based on Date of Birth (elder candidates will be given preference), followed by alphabetical order of names. Candidates must appear with all original documents along with photocopies.

Medical Examination

Before final appointment, provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo an Initial Medical Examination (IME) conducted by the company's doctors. Appointment will be subject to being declared medically fit. The final merit panel will remain valid for one year as per guidelines.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General (UR) / OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS: ₹1000/- + GST ₹180/- (Total ₹1180/-)
  • SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / Female candidates / Employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries: Exempted (No fee)s

  2. Registration -

    2. Register by filling required details such as post opted, name, mobile number and email ID.
    3. Check Application Sequence Number, User ID and Password received on email and mobile.
  3. Filling The Appliation Form -
    1. Login again using User ID and Password.
    2. Fill the application form and upload required documents, photograph and signature.
    3. Check preview of the form and make corrections if required.
    4. Submit the application form on or before 06-04-2026 (up to 11:50 PM).
    5. Make online payment through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking (if applicable).
    6. Take printout of the application for future reference. No need to send printout to Mahanadi Coalfields Limited at this stage.
